Lakefront Trail

April events on the Lakefront Trail

Spring is officially here along with plenty of running events along Chicago’s Lakefront Trail.

Every month, Active Trans compiles a list of events along the lakefront so people biking, walking and running can better plan their routes.

606 points way to more Chicago trails

The 606 and the Bloomingdale Trail, Chicago’s new rail-to-trail and park project, made national headlines when it opened up this summer, and in just a few short weeks established itself as one of Chicago’s most popular public spaces.

The overwhelming success of the trail leads to an immediate and obvious question: where can we put more trails?

Several great candidates already exist.

Help improve safety on the Lakefront Trail! Take our survey

Helping make the Lakefront Trail safer and more convenient for everyone who uses it has been a priority of Active Trans for decades. As anyone who uses the trail knows, jumping on the trail for a run, a stroll or a bike ride too often means being confronted with heavy congestion and potential conflict with fellow trail users.
