Keep sidewalks clear this winter!

Help everyone walk in a winter wonderland this season

We want to make sure our communities are still places anyone can easily walk.

Shovel those sidewalks! It’s the right thing to do and in some places - including Chicago -  it’s the law.

Many communities require building managers and landlords to keep the sidewalk clear. We are asking you to reward (and maybe educate) your neighbors about snow-shoveling .

Download flyers here that you can distribute to property owners and businesses!

Why shovel?
Clear sidewalks make it easier and safer for people to get around. It's the neighborly thing to do! People on foot or on wheelchairs rely on having clear sidewalks.

What happens if I don’t shovel?
People who rely on sidewalks - seniors, people with disabilities and children – need a clear space to walk or roll. Snow or ice-covered sidewalks force people to travel in the street and discourage people from walking at all. They might get in their car instead or just not leave their house.
