Did You Know?

Public transit users take 30 percent more steps and spend roughly eight more minutes walking each day than drivers.

Workshops for Calumet-Sag Trail's wayfinding and amenities have begun!

As the first of eight workshops open to the public, last night's workshop in Palos Heights attracted 38 participants with great ideas for improving the experience of the Calumet-Sag Trail and strengthening the connections to its communities.

The Village of Burnham is up next on Thursday, July 28, in the Village Hall at 14450 Manistee Ave., 7-9 p.m. You can see the full schedule of community workshops here.

Can't make a workshop? Too bad, because Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail are fine people! But we have you covered—fill out the on-line survey (takes less than 10 minutes).

Why so many workshops along the corridor? It's the Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail's policy—no community left behind! Meeting the Triple Bottom Line in every town and forest preserve along this richly diverse corridor will take different emphases on design and amenities that must be rooted in the communities' needs. It's about the connections.

Hope to see you with a marker in your hand and ideas in your head!
