Open Streets was a huge success! Tens of thousands of people filled eight miles of Chicago streets to play in their neighborhoods Aug. 1. Families walked, children played, and friends biked for more than five hours.

See some of the photos of the event here! Here is a wonderful recap.

If you have photos, become a Facebook fan and post them to our wall.

The free event combined last year’s two Sunday Parkways event into one huge eight-mile event. Like last year, Open Streets will spanned from Logan Square to Little Village, passing through Humboldt Park, North Lawndale and Garfield Park along the way

Major funding provided by the Chicago Community Trust. Open Streets is also supported by Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
