People fill 8 miles of streets!

Open Streets was a huge success! Tens of thousands of people filled eight miles of Chicago streets to play in their neighborhoods Aug. 1. Families walked, children played, and friends biked for more than five hours.

The free event combined last year’s two Sunday Parkways event into one huge eight-mile event. Like last year, Open Streets will spanned from Logan Square to Little Village, passing through Humboldt Park, North Lawndale and Garfield Park along the way.
