The newsletter of the Active Transportation Alliance

Nominate someone you know who has made a significant contribution to our organization's success over the years and whose work is an integral part of Active Trans’ history. The Active Transportation Alliance Hall of Fame is reserved for members and volunteers who have moved our mission forward from within through their hard work, dedication and passion for better biking, walking and transit. Hall of Fame announcements will be made at our annual Member Meeting. Do you know someone who would be a good nominee? Deadline for nominations is Aug. 8.
Eric Bjorlin is Active Trans’ new school programs manager. He has taught high school math, he worked as a volunteer recruiter and he spent last summer gardening. Eric said he has a passionate interest in building networks for positive social change, anti-racism work, biking as a form of transportation, educational equity, summer camp, and neo-futurism. In his leisure time, he enjoys watching movies, listening to the Cubs on the radio, Sunday morning services, and board games. Eric said he prefers “CDs over digital music purchases, saving up dishes for a full batch over ‘clean as you go,’ and no texting.” He also like writing his name in lowercase letters, but doesn’t think “eric bjorlin” looks good on a resume or anything professional for that matter.
Stacey Lebda is Active Trans’ new education programs assistant. Stacey started at Active Trans earlier this year as a school programs intern and now says she’s thrilled to be a full-time staffer. Stacey has a degree in human nutrition from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Ubana. “My interests mostly fall into community wellness, and eventually, I would like to pursue a Masters degree in public health,” Stacey said. “I love to play tennis, read, be with friends/family, run, rollerblade, travel, and I like to ride bikes.”
