What is the favorite part of your commute?
I do whatever I want! Read, sleep, tweet, Facebook, or people-watch
How do you feel since you went 100% active transportation?
Great. I put off selling my car for years because I was afraid losing my car would mean losing my freedom. Reality is, I'm no less mobile than I was before – and I don't have to worry about parking, tolls, gas, insurance, and tickets (YES! no more tickets....)
Describe your typical commute .
To and from work it's pretty sweet! I think I'm pretty lucky to live near several bus lines that pick me up just minutes away from my apartment and drop me off right in front of work. When I commute out to the suburbs I've learned to plan a little better since Metra leaves at less regular intervals than the el or bus.
What is the most understated aspect of mass transit?
That you're limited without a car. You're not! You have more choices: you can walk, bike, use public transportation or one of the car-sharing companies.
Pretend you get the chance to take President Obama on one transit trip. Where do you take him?
We'd take the Blue Line out to the Jefferson Park stop and go to the Taste of Polonia - eat some Kasia's pierogis (!!!!) and maybe Polka a little. OR we'd take the Blue Line out to the Rosemont stop, jump on the Pace bus #223 to the Allstate Arena for the Taylor Swift concert (Oct 9-10).
