Active Trans welcomes new board members
Jay Goldstein is a life-long resident of the north suburbs where he cycles with Velo Club Roubaix, which in 2008 formed the North Suburban Complete Streets initiative linking over a thousand area racing and recreational club members with others for local cycling advocacy.
Miguel Morales is the West Town community networker for the Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children (CLOCC) and chairs the Active Lifestyles Task Force of the Greater Humboldt Park Community of Wellness. He has been an avid bicyclist for 15 years.
J. Alex Sanger has been an Active Trans member since 2003 and chairs the Membership Committee. She won the John D’Ambrose Spirit of Volunteering Award in 2009. She lives on the West Side with her husband, Peter Saine.
Kevin Stanciel has worked in the active transit field for all his career: Openlands Project; City of Chicago Department of Environment; Chicago Transit Authority, where he oversaw the CTA’s bike programs and Transit Signal Priority; and currently the RTA.

Metra to take credit cards
By Labor Day, Metra’s website will allow secure credit card purchases, said spokeswoman Meg Reile. By February, downtown station ticket windows will take credit cards.
“It’ll be a convenience for our current customers for sure,” Reile said.
Kiosks where customers could buy tickets with credit cards have also been discussed, but Reile said that would require tens of millions of dollars.
