Membership for all budgets

More people who want better biking, walking and transit will now be able to help move Active Trans’ work forward – as of May 24, individuals can join at any level.

Our organization wanted to make it easy for someone to join and be a part of the movement. We also wanted individuals and households to set their own membership levels to fit their budgets and their passions. For many, the change is simply ceremonial. You’ll continue to renew at the same level you’ve been giving. But our hope is that we will see a new generation of members join us at initially lower levels and raise their giving over time, similar to trends in other nonprofit charities.

Here are the highlights. You can join for as low as one dollar annually. You can also convert your sweat and time through volunteering to earn membership. Specific services and benefits will vary depending on the level of membership.

Current members still receive all their current Premium-level benefits. The cost for a Premium-level membership remains $30 annually. You can now add additional household members for $10 a person, giving households who would like more than two people to hold membership cards to access our great discount programs. Plus, you can now choose a multi-year, automatic billing option where you choose a set amount to give each month.

The progress of our work relies on members – their strength in numbers, purposeful generosity and personal talents. Our new vision for membership realizes all these qualities.
