See more of Chicago on two wheels! Registration for annual Boulevard Lakefront Tour now open
Registration is now open for the annual Boulevard Lakefront Tour on Aug. 29, 2010. Save $5 when you register before July 4 at www.boulevardtour.org.
Sign up now at www.boulevardtour.org to enjoy more of Chicago’s splendor than ever before as you tour through Chicago’s lush parks, historic neighborhoods and classic boulevards.
Active Transportation Alliance’s annual Boulevard Lakefront Tour is back with some fresh modifications. This year’s start and finish will be at Taylor and Morgan streets on the University of Illinois-Chicago campus.
Choose the route that fits your kind of bike-riding: the casual family-friendly 10-15 mile ride, the famous 35-mile Boulevard Tour, or the extended 62-mile route developed by the Chicago Cycling Club. Starting times vary from 7-9:30 a.m. depending on which route you choose.
“Chicago’s gems are truly breath-taking when you see them by bike,” said Melody Geraci, interim executive director of the Active Transportation Alliance. “This bike ride showcases the beauty and history that makes up this magnificent city.”
Join the experience and register today at www.boulevardtour.org . Registration costs $25 for Active Trans members, $30 for non-members, and $12 for youth 17 and under. The $5 discount is good through July 4. Registration includes an event T-shirt, volunteer support, rest stops along the routes, ride guide with points of interest and a post-ride festival with live entertainment and Goose Island Brewery beer and lunch available to purchase.
The Boulevard Lakefront Tour benefits the Active Transportation Alliance’s work to improve biking, walking and transit in Chicagoland.
