Alert: Chicago aldermen to take a spin during Open Streets Aug. 1
What: Ald. Rey Colon (35) and Ald. Walter Burnett (27) will lead an aldermanic bike ride during the Open Streets event. Aldermen from across the city are invited to participate.
When: 9:30 a.m. Saturday Aug. 1 at Open Streets
Where: The group will give a few remarks and leave from the Garfield Park Conservatory (300 N. Central Park) and ride north to the Logan Square monument.
About: Open Streets allows people to walk, bike, run and play in eight miles of roads from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The route spans from Logan Square to Little Village. People can stop at any of the activities along the route for yoga, basketball, dancing, workout classes and much more! See the full route at www.openstreetschicago.org. Open Streets is organized by five community-based organizations and generously funded by The Chicago Community Trust and Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
