Interested in Renewable Energy? The FREE Illinois Solar Tour is the place to start. The 2010 Illinois Solar Tour will take place on Saturday, October 2 from 10am to 3 pm, in conjunction with National Energy Awareness Month. The tour is a free self-guided statewide event with over 185 homes and businesses with renewable energy installations participating as host sites. System owners and docents will be available to share their enthusiasm and experience as well as answer questions. This event offers Illinois residents the opportunity to tour innovative green homes and buildings to see how easy it is to use solar, wind and geothermal energy to reduce monthly utility bills and be part of the energy solution. Participants on the tour will have the opportunity to view a solar car wash, a solar heated high school swimming pool, as well as many homes powered by clean renewable energy!
