The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Chicago (MTC3) will hold its second Beginners' Ride on Sunday, September 12 at 1 p.m. The ride will start from the park next to La Rabida Children's Hospital on the southside. Currently, parking in the lot immediately south of the hospital is free.

This is a social ride, a fun outing for those who may not have ridden as much as they would have liked this summer. This will be an excellent opportunity to ride once more (or for the first time) before we hunker down and hibernate (early predictions are for heavier than normal snow fall this winter -- so let's enjoy the late summer and early fall).

We will ride north on the bike path, along the Lake Front, riding up to 31st Street and back, taking a short break at 31st Street before heading back to La Rabida Hospital.

What do you need to bring for this ride? A bike in good working order; a helmet, for your safety; and, a water bottle to ensure you remain hydrated. Feel free to bring a friend too.

This ride will be led by Beth Burns, a very experienced rider. I will bring up the rear, making sure no one gets separated from the group. For those who joined us earlier this summer, I hope you can return. For those who may have missed the earlier ride, this is a great opportunity to ride before the season ends (and make new friends).
