The Logan Square Preservation House & Garden Walk, one of the longest-running neighborhood events of its kind, is scheduled for Saturday, September 11 and will feature homes and churches along historic Kedzie Boulevard and surrounding thoroughfares. The event gives attendees access to restored and renovated turn-of-the-century mansions, homes and gardens and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year marks the 29th anniversary of the walk, organized by Logan Square Preservation, an organization dedicated to the educating citizens on the historic significance of the Logan Square neighborhood and preservation of the northern most boundary of Chicago’s famed “Emerald Necklace” or boulevard network. Advanced ticket costs are $15 per person or $12 for seniors over 60. The starting point is the newly restored Logan Square comfort station, built decades ago to serve commuters, at 2579 N. Milwaukee Av., across from the Logan Square monument. Order advanced tickets through Logan Square Preservation, 3024 W. Logan Blvd., Chicago, IL 60647-1708. Or call 773-384-1702.
