Our events encourage activity among individuals, families, friends and co-workers; build excitement about our mission; and, when registration is involved, raise funds to support our work to improve bicycling, walking and transit.

Our events are big and small and happen throughout the year and across the region – from Bike the Drive, which sees 20,000 people biking on a car-free Lake Shore Drive each year, to intimate boutique rides like the Homewood Bike and Dine, which introduced 22 residents to the Southland’s local culture and cuisine.  Winter Bike to Work Day celebrates the coldest day in Chicago’s history, and the Bicycle Commuter Challenge works with businesses to provide resources and encouragement for employees to incorporate active transportation in their commutes.

Our events are not only for bicyclists.  Open Streets is the perfect example of an event for walkers, runners, skaters, yogis and anyone who enjoys physically active fun.
