No permitted events reported
It has taken some time this year to obtain the list of permitted events that may affect your use of the Lakefront Trail. I apologize for the delay.
With all of the recent heavy rain, the Lakefront Trail has quite a bit of debris and standing water in many places. Please continue to be careful of these hazards.
There will be a run on the North Side of the Lakefront Trail on Saturday, April 25th. Expect congestion due to the run from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
The underpass at Solidarity Drive should be completed in the next two weeks.
The Lakefront Trail patch and repair project for 2009 is currently out to bid. The large sections of missing pavement between North Avenue and Oak Street are the highest priority in this project.
As reported by a Trail user last week, the Solidarity Drive underpass (the road out to Northerly Island and the Adler Planetarium) is nearly complete.
With the warmer weather, the Trail is free of ice and snow but not free of salt, run-off and winter surface damage.
Due to the harsh weather last weekend a number of sections of the Lakefront Trail between North Avenue and Oak Street Beach were damaged.
