Soles and Spokes Workshop
Learn the basic steps of developing and implementing a local bikeway network. This half-day workshop will focus on both the technical aspects of route selection and on current facility designs. Directional signing, network-level planning, and engineering on-street facilities will be address in the workshop. Presentations will consist of an introduction to bikeway planning and several case studies of bikeway plan development, in northeastern Illinois. Carolyn Helmke, senior transportation planner at the Active Transportation Alliance will moderate the discussion. Speakers include the Active Transportation Alliance's Carolyn Helmke and David Gleason.
