Bike fun strikes BACK!

You wouldn't know them if they walked past you on the train platform. If they made your low-foam grande skim mocha. If they made your bed this morning.

An elite operative of the Homewood-Flossmoor Bike Fun Strike Force could be staring at you right now, and you would have no idea. DON'T LOOK AROUND.

Forged over nachos and margaritas, HFBFSF – HuFBufStuF – plots bicycle goodness in the greater Homewood-Flossmoor area. The target: the 83% of residents who say they will ride their bike at least once this year. If any of their friends are going to. And there's not much riding at any one time. And someone pumps up their tires for them.

HFBFSF's first strike – Operation B-Day – is July 25. Known to the public as H-F Prairie Garden Bike Tour, the operation launches from Indian Trail Park in Homewood, deploying docents from Prairie Godmothers to lead citizens on an 11-mile, 2 hour tour of nine homes showcasing sustainable landscaping and gardens as well as Coyote Run Golf Course and Ravisloe Country Club, both renowned for their native species stewardship.

Science enrichment specialist ME4E will provide programming for the children while the adults ride.

While shock and awe will both be displaced by fascination and wonder, the ride will feature lemonade stops and Dilly Bars at ride's end (thank you Homewood DQ).

The cost – $5, paid in cash day of. Okay, that's a little shocking, and pretty awesome.
