I rode the entire length of the Lakefront Trail this afternoon. The south side is generally in good shape. Around the Shedd Aquarium and next to McCormick Place, there is only a narrow section of bare pavement. Where the Tail parallels 71st Street, there is significant ice covering the width of the Trail. If you ride in this area, please do so with extreme caution.
The underpass at Ohio Street is clean. The east side of the Oak Street underpass is now clean but the west side remains snow covered. The underpass at North Ave., at least on the east side, is now clean (I didn't ride on the west side of this underpass).

Trail around Shedd Aquarium
As of 1/13/10 the trail around Shedd Aquarium showed another 1-2 foot width of snow removal.
For safety and increasing traffic, the area should be completely cleaned during this warm spell.
