Agreed there should be
Agreed there should be detours, however, there are far too many races where bikers get in the way of participants (and is it just me or are there a lot more bikes on sidewalks this summer?) causing dangerous conditions.

"CLOSED" the lake front trail. I was told I would be ticketed if I continued! Plus the officer would not direct me to where I could go by street. I was trying to get to work 7 miles away. When streets are closed there are DETOURS. When the lakefront trail is closed there is no notice or alternate route. Nice planning, especially because it's "Bike to Work Week!"
