Berwyn adopts active transportation plan

Culminating an eight month planning process, Berwyn City Council members adopted both an active transportation plan and Complete Streets policy on November 22.

The city engaged Active Trans to work with them under a Federal Model Communities grant to improve public health. Their goal is to make bicycling, walking and transit use safer and more convenient for residents.

The plan and policy will guide physical improvements to the local transportation network, including location of signage for bicycle routes.

An ad hoc committee of residents has formed to support implementing the plan, including recommendations to encourage more bicycling and walking. Congratulations Berwyn!
