Active Trans has a new fan with some deep pockets, Patagonia, Inc. Members of the community (that’s you) are invited to stop by the Patagonia Store, 1800 N. Clybourn Avenue, to voice their support for one of three local environmental charity. While the competition is collegial, your vote means the difference between first prize $2,500 and third prize $1,000. Voting for the "Voice Your Choice" competition began on Friday of last week (Sep. 25) and lasts just one month. Please get yourself to the Patagonia Store and show your support for Active Transportation Alliance. Its the easiest donation to Active Trans you can make: no purchase at the Patagonia Store is necessary.

Check out the October issue of Scientific American, page 28-29 article titled, Shifting Gears. It makes alot of sense and as we try to get local communities to set up biking trails/paths these issues should definitely be considered.
