You're invited to join a family-friendly bike tour of the 35th Ward to learn about the ward's Student Active Transportation Plan. (The 35th Ward includes a large section of Logan Square; if you're not sure of your ward, see below.)
Over the past year, residents have been working with Active Transportation Alliance and Sam Schwartz Engineering, providing input on strategies to make it safer and easier to walk and bike to schools and parks in the 35th Ward.
All this great input has been transformed into a plan for improving conditions for everyone who walks and bikes in the ward.
You'll learn about these plans on the bike ride, and you'll learn how you can get involved in turning the ideas into reality.
You have two short, family-friendly rides to choose from on Tuesday, July 10 and Saturday July 14 (the ride on Saturday is in partnership with Kidical Mass).
Both rides start at 10:30 a.m., and will include a bike safety presentation and several stops along a two-mile route. Parents, children and community members are encouraged to attend. If you're attending, be sure to RSVP via Facebook.
