The underpass at Solidarity Drive is open! Randy Warren blogged about this a few weeks ago but as I was on a run down to McCormick Place last night I stumbled upon this beautiful connector. Now path-users can avoid the chaos and planetarium and aquarium automobile traffic at street level by taking this underground detour. According to Mayor Daley, “This project improves the experience of not only the bicyclists, joggers and walkers who use the Trail, but also make it easier on pedestrians and motorists visiting the Museum Campus.”

Except in order to get onto
Except in order to get onto the ramp to the trail from Solidarity westbound, you need to ride up onto the sidewalk and go through a bus stop and a cab stand.
Can somebody make plans _now_ to correct that error when it comes time to repave Solidarity, so it doesn't happen again?
