Active Trans raises the roof at volunteer party

Last night Active Trans held a successful volunteer recruitment party at Heritage General Store in Lakeview.

Thanks to the 75 people who came out to learn about bike advocacy and sign up to volunteer!

We're thrilled with the event's turnout and can't wait to start working with all of you in making a more bike-friendly region.

Big thanks go out to Heritage, our friends at Goose Island, and all-star volunteer Serge Lubomudrov for taking photos. (See if you can spot yourself in the photo set!)

If you were unable to make it to the event, but are interested in volunteering, be sure to check out our complete list of volunteer opportunities on our website.

Wow, having 75 people sign up

Wow, having 75 people sign up to volunteer is great! I hope that one day there won't be a need for activists because people everywhere will know that sharing the road with bikers is not only important but necessary.

Biking is gaining in popularity partly because of high gas prices and partly because of people wanting the exercise using different methods and it is gaining more road space as well.
