Did You Know?

Half of school children walked or biked to school in 1969, but only 13 percent were doing it in 2009.

Welcome, Bike Fall and One Million Less Cars Rally

You can feel it in the air. Bike Fall is here! For me, this is one of my favorite times to ride when it's a cooler and crisp out. It's also a time to prepare for Bike Winter which is also a great time to continue biking. If you're already riding regularly right now, don't stop!

The folks at Bike Winter have a wonderful community to keep you biking all winter long with tips, workshops, events and an online listserv.

The kick off meeting for Bike Winter is tomorrow (also Chicagoland Car-Free Day) and our friends at Break the Gridlock are hosting a One Million Less Cars rally and bike ride that ends at the meeting.

If you haven't already, consider making this winter your first Bike Winter! The kick off meeting at the Billy Goat is a tradition that keeps everyone toasty and the bike ride over will allow you to make new friends.
