Did You Know?

Only 0.7 percent of federal transportation funds are spent on improving pedestrian facilities.

Clark Street commuters–have you discovered freedom?

While making my regular commute on Clark St. in Chicago, I recently discovered a fountain at Wisconsin and Clark (just south of Armitage) on the west side of the street.

I'm not sure who owns the space…it's not labeled Chicago Park District, community garden, etc.

There is also a sculpture called The Fighter. Both the fountain and sculpture are designed by Thomas Scarff. The sculpture has the word freedom engraved on it.

If you haven't stopped by, it's a nice place to pull over on your bike, take a breather and listen to the water.

I'll be the sweaty guy on a black Surly Long Haul Trucker…feel free to say hello.
