Roadside Memorial Bill

Last week Gov. Pat Quinn signed SB 3803 into law.

This bill establishes a means to memoralize a person killed by a reckless driver. The law, effective immediatly, allows for the erection of a roadside memorial at the site of the crash. The memorial will be maintained by the appropriate government agency for at least two years following erection. The family requesting the memorial must pay the actual costs of the memorial sign.

While we hope that all traffic crashes are eliminated, we are prepared for the inevitable. Learn more about our crash support programs at www.activetrans.org/crashsupport.
