Credit for Metra

Yesterday, SB 577 passed the Senate Telecommunications and Technology Committee. This bill, sponsored by Senator Michael Bond (D-Grayslake) will require Metra to accept credit cards (as already done by most other commuter railroads, CTA and Pace).

Also today, the Chicago Tribune reported that Rep. Julie Hamos (D-Evanston) is starting a new campaign to force Metra/Pace/CTA to create a universal fare card.

I hope it doesn't increase

I hope it doesn't increase fares. Credit cards tend to skim 3 or more percent off the top of the purchase. I hope the cost isn't passed on to others.
