The Buffalo Grove Bicycle Committee is pushing to add bike lanes in Buffalo Grove on Brandywyn Lane, Thompson Boulevard and Bernard Drive, but first a technical analysis is needed.
The Northwest Municipal Conference Bike Plan, which Active Trans played a lead role in creating, serves as a guide for transportation-friendly enhancements for bike corridors in Buffalo Grove and its surrounding areas.
Deerfield Parkway and Dundee Road currently act as connecting corridors, and the village has already received a grant from Illinois Department of Transportation for sidewalk and pedestrian improvements at Dundee Road.
The ad hoc committee hopes to soon become a permanent, budgeted fixture at the village, bringing more active transportation options to residents of Buffalo Grove.
