Remembering Maya

I thought this was a very powerful, well written story about the real feelings that police officers have, as well as the reality Maya's death was entirely preventable.

For so many of us, when we are behind the wheels of an automobile we forget the damage that can be done if we don't pay attention, if we are inebriated, or if we are simply in too much of a hurry.

Approximately 42,000 people are killed annually in the United States in some sort of transportation-related crash. Think of all the lives that are changed by this collective catastrophe. We can do better.
