Seniors need RTA Smart Card Apr. 1

On April 1, seniors will need a Smart Card to ride free. If you currently use a Reduced Fare Card, it will not work after that date. Call RTA’s reduced fare department at 312.913.3110 and give them your Reduced Fare Card number, and they will mail you a Smart Card that will allow you to continue to ride for free.

If you have never had a Senior Reduced Fare Card and would like a Smart Card to ride free (and you are eligible), you must sign up in person at one of over 200 registration sites around the region. To find a site, go to www.rtachicago.com/seniorsridefree. There is no deadline to apply for a Smart Card.

More information is available on RTA's website.

SmartCard

I have called the RTA three times over the last 2 months and I still don't have my Smart Card. I spoke with a woman two weeks ago who checked my records assured me it would be sent but it still hasn't been received.
